E-Type 50th Anniversary - FIA Race Series
|
In 2011 the iconic Jaguar E-Type celebrates its 50th anniversary and to celebrate Jaguar Heritage has announced a series of races with FIA specification E-Types to run during that year. The races will be run with the Historic Sports Car Club and are planned to be held at prestigious race meetings around the UK (Silverstone, Oulton Park and Brands Hatch are already confirmed) and also one in Europe. Jaguar's motorsports involvement dates back to its earliest days some 75 years ago. The 24 Hours of Le Mans has been part of that story since 1951 when a C-Type won the big enduro its very first time out. Jaguar is returning to the French classic this year with a factory entry for the first time since the Tom Walkinshaw built XJR-14 prototypes of the early 1990s.

Evans Clarke have today auctioned six SA Historic Plates with rights attached (to resell).
Interest in very low 4 digit plates appears to have slowed with only "1858" selling at $7,700 and "1590" and "1390" not receiving a bid (reserve at $7k).
A 5 digit plate "86928" met reserve at $4,000, being the bottom of the market.
6 Digit plate "111-115" achieved an impressive $5,500 , reflective of its 2 number configura...
